A student at Stamford School, who is the U12 County Champion, sees continued success on the course.Year 9 student, Sam Marshall, has become 3rd in the British Junior Golf tour, U12 County Champion, and has qualified to play in 'The Champion of Champions' in Ireland. He will additionally be playing at the Reid Trophy, the biggest England event for U15's, later this year.Sam's handicap improvement across this year (starting at 8, currently down to 2) examples his dedication to the sport.Sam said: “The Schools have supported me in everything I’ve done in golf, allowing me to have extra training and enter competitions which sometimes clash with school fixtures. This year I’m aiming to play in more county games and get picked for the England regional Squad.”Sam started his golfing career three years ago at his home club, Elton Furze, and now has monthly lessons at Woburn Golf Club, supported by Daniel Grieves, and Aaron Jones at Thorpe Wood who has coached him for the entirety of his golfing career.For more news from sport at Stamford, please click
