RAF Section Through to Nationals
Cadets from Stamford Endowed Schools CCF (RAF) Section recently traveled to RAF Honington to compete in the Air Squadron Trophy Competition for schools in East England.Throughout the day, the squad competed against eighteen other schools in various tasks including command tasks, shooting and RAF knowledge, in which they came first, first and second, respectively.Following the previous year’s success, the team came second overall, which makes them eligible to compete in the national competition at RAF Halton in March against the top three teams from all six areas in the country.Cadets are also encouraged to apply for other highly competitive national awards, such as the Air Cadet Pilot Scheme, the Air Cadet Pilot Navigation Scheme, or the Air Cadet Leadership Course.Lt Cdr Annabelle Holland, Contingent Commander of the Stamford Endowed Schools CCF, commented:
“I am incredibly proud of the RAF team and how much they have achieved because of their hard work and dedication. I wish them the very best of luck in the Nationals at RAF Halton in March.”
