Book for our Discovery Morning

Discovery Mornings are a chance to explore the School on a normal working day.

You and your family will tour the School in the company of one of our pupils and will meet the senior team over tea and coffee.

Junior School (Reception – Year 6):

Spaces at a Discovery Morning are limited so that you can have as much time as you need to see the School at your own pace and discuss your child as an individual.

Lottie begins philosophy podcast

A Sixth Form student has created a podcast series to encourage her peers to learn more about one of her favourite subjects, philosophy.Lottie Pike, Year 12, recently began her podcast - aptly named 'Five Minute Philosophy' - where her audience enjoy five minute lessons on different philosophical concepts and thinkers. So far, Lottie has educated her viewers about 'the big three' Greek philosophers; Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle. In future episodes, Lottie is excited to have guest contributors add to her podcast series at different milestones. When talking about why she began the podcast, Lottie told us: "I've always been passionate about sharing what I know with others, and when paired with my love for philosophy, I realised that a philosophy podcast would be a perfect way to achieve that by creating something fun and interactive. A friend in my year has also recently started a podcast about classics, and he gave me some inspiration too!"Lottie records her podcast episodes around studying for her A Levels in philosophy and ethics, English literature and Spanish, and intends to study philosophy at university, following her time at Stamford.'Five Minute Philosophy' is accessible to all, regardless of age, education or background and can be found on Apple Podcasts. Please see links posted on the podcast's Instagram account here, or Twitter here, to listen along. For more news from the Schools' community, please click here, or read more about Stamford Sixth Form, here.
