Isaac wins Child of Courage award

Isaac Fell, Year 9 at Stamford School, has been awarded the ‘Child of Courage’ award at the Peterborough Pride Awards 2019.The event, organised by the Peterborough Telegraph, saw BBC radio presenter Melyvn Prior present twelve awards following a celebratory evening involving a drinks reception and two course meal. The sponsors presented Isaac with his award, commenting on the courage he had displayed in his approach to his diagnosis and treatment for leukaemia, which finished earlier this year. They also applauded the impressive fundraising he and his family had been involved in for four charities throughout his treatment; Children with Cancer UK, Starlight Wish Foundation, CLIC Sargent and CCLG.Isaac’s mother and father, Liz and Simon Fell, said: “Isaac was very nervous when we arrived, with his nerves only increasing as they read out the nominations. As soon as he heard his name, he couldn’t believe it and was absolutely delighted!“We are so proud of the maturity and courage that Isaac has shown, right from the point of his diagnosis all the way through his long treatment.“He had always been keen to help others and do as many events as he can to raise money for charity, as well as share his story to raise awareness.”
