Last Friday, our Schools were alive with the sound of music as we had our first ever co-educational House Music competition. The competition, which was judged by the Stamford Sings founder, Brooke Peverell, was a great celebration of talent and togetherness. The morning session witnessed the Year 7-9 competition with each house performing the same duo of unison songs and in the afternoon, the Year 10-11 competition unfurled with each house singing a unison song, a distinctive acoustic ensemble, and a captivating rock/pop song.
Year 7-9 Unison Song Winners: Exeter
Exeter House claimed victory in the Year 7-9 Unison Song category with a great performance of 'You'll Never Walk Alone' and 'Dancing Queen.' (See photo above).
Year 10-11 Unison Song Winners: Ancaster
The Year 10-11 Unison Song competition was dominated by Ancaster House, who wowed the crowd with their heartfelt rendition of 'Thank You for the Music.'
Acoustic Ensemble Champions: Brazenose
Brazenose House showcased their instrumental prowess, winning the Acoustic Ensemble category with their rendition of 'Just the Two of Us.' This was, coincidentally, performed by just two students; one with the harp and one with the saxophone!
Rock/Pop Song Winners: Cavell
In the Rock/Pop Song category, Cavell House took home the top prize with their electrifying performance of 'Skyfall.'
The first-ever co-educational House Music competition was a fantastic conclusion to this half-term. It brought together the entire school community to celebrate the incredible musical talents of our students. The atmosphere was electric, and the performances were nothing short of exceptional. Thank you to all the students, teachers, and staff who made this event possible.
