Getting back to blogging

The blog has seen lots of fresh content since the start of the new term.Mr D Tuck, head of Politics first set up the Stamford Endowed Schools’ Blog three years ago as a space dedicated to showcasing the original work of students. The blog offers a safe digital space that encompasses the whole of the Stamford Endowed Schools community. It represents inclusivity and diversity, welcoming submissions in any format, from all year groups at Stamford School and Stamford High School.   Younger students can build self-confidence and find their voice, as the blog provides a place where learning is celebrated and different achievements are recorded. We have seen older students increasingly utilise the blog to provide bespoke, creative bodies of work. These can be later used to aid a university personal statement or job application.Recently, the blog has accommodated over 31 new posts. Some of these are general school news stories, however, some are pieces students will use for digital portfolios.Sasha H, Year 13, wrote a recent blog post asking the question: 'How does early attachment effect the likelihood of becoming a criminal?'.The blog's statistics from last year are staggering, despite the ongoing challenges posed by the COVID-19  pandemic.Ella S, Year 13 said: “The Stamford Blog is special for a number of reasons, but I believe the best aspect of it is the accessibility and openness to all. You do not need to be of a certain standard to contribute, that is what makes it so unique – as people from all ages and backgrounds can be featured on the blog”.As well as standard posts, the blog occasionally posts vlogs. A recent vlog involving Macy B, Year 12, discusses female rights in Afghanistan. These particular vlogs are part of a series called 'Taking in the Library'. There have been eight episodes so far, which you can view by clicking here. For more information on the SES blog, please click hereBanner 2021 - Stamford Schools
