Stamford School Students Conquer Cairngorms In Exciting Half Term Trip!

This half term, ten Stamford School students spanning from Years 11 to 13 embarked on an exhilarating Winter Mountaineering trip to Aviemore, nestled in the Cairngorms. The Scottish Highlands graced our adventurers with favourable weather, presenting ample challenges for their journey.

Throughout the expedition, the team undertook a diverse array of activities, including scaling the majestic Cairngorm, constructing snow shelters, and mastering the art of navigating varying terrains using crampons and ice axes. Amidst their adventures, the serendipitous timing of Shrove Tuesday added an extra layer of excitement, allowing for a delightful interlude of pancake flipping amidst the snow-capped peaks.

This trip proved to be yet another remarkable opportunity for our students to hone their skills, foster teamwork, and forge enduring memories amidst the stunning backdrop of the Scottish wilderness.
