Earlier this week, Stamford High School played host to the annual Rotary Young Chef competition organised by Stamford Rotary Club. Ten pupils from the Stamford Endowed Schools along with pupils from Stamford Welland Academy were challenged to produce a two-course meal in line with the healthy eating guidelines in 1 ½ hours. Stamford School Year 8 pupil Dominic impressed the culinary competition chefs from RAF Wittering with his menu consisting of:
- Tenderloin fillet of pork with a lemon, mint and garlic crust served on a bed of creamy mashed potato infused with olive oil
- Petit pois à la Francaise
- Roasted butternut squash
- Tangy lemon soufflé with fresh raspberries
Head of Food and Nutrition at Stamford High School, Karen Wilson commented: “The students did really well and all managed to complete the task on time. Their tables were beautifully presented, and they produced some outstanding meals especially at such a young age.”Dominic will now progress to the District Young Chef Competition in Spring 2019.
