Stamfordian Life Breadth Of Offering Facilities Opportunity For All Sporting Values Sporting PartnersOn this page
"Sport is an integral aspect of life at Stamford. Through sport we aim to give your child a healthy attitude to physical activity throughout his or her school career and, more importantly, for life."
Mark Nasey
Director of Sports
Through unrivalled facilities and excellent teaching and coaching, we offer your child numerous opportunities to compete and participate in an array of activities.
“He was only doing 30 minutes of sport a week at the village school, there's so much more opportunity here for rugby, football, cricket, hockey...that was enticing to us.”
Year 4 parent
Whilst it is a test of endurance and determination, it is, more importantly, a celebration of the enjoyment of outdoor movement and running in the stunning surroundings of Stamford.
“The memories created at sporting events like these last a lifetime and we hope our students, from as early as reception, can learn the enjoyment and reward that can be gained from a healthy, well-balanced lifestyle that can be hugely beneficial in later life.’
Mark Nasey
SES Director of Sport
Representing your school is the norm here. Our culture nurtures the drive and spirit to turn up, put on your school colours, and represent in your chosen sport, at whatever level.
We are one of the top sporting schools in the Midlands, which is supported by our investment in the facilities, quality teaching and coaching we can offer.
Our 60 acre site is nestled in the heart of the Georgian town of Stamford, Lincolnshire.
Students can enjoy sports before, during and after school with our extensive Co-Curricular sports offering
Examples include; Rugby, Football, Basketball, Cricket.
Being part of a team helps students to enhance their social skills, such as patience, empathy, communication, respect, compromise and tolerance. Together this builds rounded and grounded individuals, who are independent thinkers, fizzing with Stamfordian spirit.
Example include: athletics, tennis, gymnastics.
The breadth of opportunities and level of which your child can participate, along with a range of performance pathways on offer, makes Stamford a place to grow and develop regardless of ability.
We believe sport exposes students of all abilities to the benefits of a lifelong affiliation to physicality. Their sporting journey will be characterised by the Stamfordian sporting values of:
Enjoyment - through growth, challenge and reward
Resilience - by experiencing moments of success and failure
Competition - characterised by co-operation and independence
Belonging - to Stamford in participation and representation
Physicality - based on knowledge of the benefits
Our long-established relationships with pathway programmes and partnerships beyond school life help bolster our offering at Stamford School. The partnerships and pathways benefit students in so many ways.
